Established in 2010, Heads of Interdisciplinary Studies (HoIS) represents the interests of Language, Mathematics, and Liberal Studies educators across the Ontario college system. This collaborative group is mandated to make recommendations on educational policies and objectives of a province-wide nature with respect to curriculum, methodology, admission requirements, and related academic matters regarding interdisciplinary courses and programs.

Membership
HoIS is composed of an administrative representative appointed by each college. The administrative representatives of the constituent subcommittees for Language, Math, and General Education/Liberal Studies sit as members of HOIS and represent their home college.
